衡山宾馆是上世纪二、三十年代建造的，是“ART DECO”（装饰艺术派）风格建筑向现代主义风格过渡时期的作品，改造时设计师力求反应那个时期的建筑风格。在外立面改造设计时，增加竖向的层层向上收缩，形成很强的韵律感，而底部则采用金色的线型装饰，使其具有酒店的气氛。大堂、餐吧、水吧等空间也采用“ART DECO”风格，并与现代设计理念和材料工艺结合，营造出摩登时代的酒店气氛。由于衡山宾馆的前身为“毕卡第公寓”，客房宽敞舒适，卫生间也明亮宽大。设计师在设计客房时，力求保持其特色，在有条件的卫生间同时设淋浴房及加长浴缸，使客人能得到充分的休息和享受。

Built between the 20s and 30s of the last Century,Shanghai Hengshan Hotel is a piece of classic works marking the interim from “ART DECO”architectural style to modemistic style.We made every effort to reflect the architectural style of that era in our reconstruction project.For instance,the outside walls are vertically shrunk to create a strong sense of rhythm,while the bottom is decorated with golden linear omaments,which as a whole demonstrates the hotel＇stemperament.Lobby,restaurants and water bars also adopt the “ART DECO”style integrating with modem design ideas and material technologies,and thus create a modem temperament.Originally an apartment house,Hengshan Hotel is well equipped with spaclous and comfortable guest rooms ,bright and commodious toilets.In order to preserve its characteristic,we have installed both a shower room and a lengthened bathtub in every toilet of the guest room wherever feasible,aiming to let our guests get the best rest and enjoyment.
