Breath of Space in Chinese Traditional Architecture -Discussion about Architecture from the Angle of Encirclement Chess

中国传统建筑以其独特的形质格局、超脱的内容体系成为中华文化的重要组成部分;围棋作为中国古老的一种游戏手段体现了东方人的智慧光辉,也是中华文化的一颗珍珠。两者以“围合”、“气”之哲学内涵体现了一脉相承的文化渊源。试以围棋论建筑,从两者共通点中提炼出中国传统建筑文化的某些特征。

As a game originated from ancient China, encirclement chess, which embodies the wisdom from the east, is an important part of Chinese culture. Chinese traditional architecture and encirclement chess reflect the same cultural source with the philosophy intention of ＂encirclement＂ and ＂breath＂. This paper addresses architecture from the angle of encirclement chess, refining the some features of Chinese traditional architecture from the similarities of them.
