Liang Sicheng and Heritage Conservation of China

梁思成先生对中国历史遗产保护事业作出了巨大贡献,建立了文物建筑修复观念,树立了“修旧如旧”的修复概念,提出了城市整体性保护的思想。这些思想均与当时的国际主流保护理论相符,但随着时代的进步,“修旧如旧”的概念已不符合今天的国际遗产保护思想。

Prof. Liang Sicheng made great contribution to heritage conservation of China. He established the concept of historic monument restoration; the concept of： ＂restoration as the past＂, and the concept of integrity conservation in city. These concepts accorded wfth the main international conservation theory. But, with the time passing, the concept of ＂restoration as the past＂ is out of the main conservation theory of today.
