MVRDV事务所由Winy Maas,Jacobvan Rijs和Nathalie de Vries于1991年在荷兰鹿特丹建立。MVRDV坚持追求对城市密度的理想和研究,通过对与当代建筑和设计过程相关的大量复杂数据的分析来塑造空间这些研究方法的成果渗透于各种尺度和类型的建筑设计、城市设计、景观设计、发行刊物和展览。MVRDV的中国之旅始于2002年。几年来也历游了多个中国城市,涉及规划、建筑等不同的项目。文章通过与Winy Maas的访谈以及对MVRDV在中国项目的介绍,探讨了MVRDV在中国的工作方法和面临的问题。

MVRDV was set up in Rotterdam. the Netherlands, in 1991 by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries.The office continues to pursue research on the fascination of urban density. It uses a method of shaping space through anatysis of complicate amounts of relevant data which usually accompany the process in contemporary architectureal design.The products of this approach varies and ranges from buildings of all types and sizes,from architecture to urban design,from landscape design to publications and installations.MVRDV starts working on Chinese project in 2002.In the past fev years,it has experienced different Chinese cities from south to north,collaborated with different clients including government or private developer.By interviewing with Winy Maas,the author introduced the projects they have done,and discuses the design approach of the projects and the difficulties they have faced in China.
