This paper introduces the design process of reconstructing and expailding Shanghai Musical Conservatory from the aspects of guiding ideology, planning conception, landscape design, space arrangement, and discusses how, out of a naturally-developing and disorderly city, to organise an orderly clue to guide the whole design process.
