在日趋激烈的全球竞争大背景下,重大事件已被当作是各国、各城市提升城市竞争力的战略工具,巴塞罗那、悉尼和雅典奥运会的成功举办,揭示了奥运会对城市的作用机制,包括战略目标的确定,举办地点的选择与城市空间发展战略的契合,基础设施水平与城市服务能力的提升,城市文化的弘扬与城市知名度、文化影响力的增强及城市管治能力的提高等方面。承办重大事件有其积极的一面,但同时也面临风险,需要城市政府谨慎考虑。
Under more and more fierce global competition, major events have become the strategic tools for each city to improve the urban competitiveness. The success of the Olympic Games in Barcelona, Sydney and Athens has revealed the mechanism of the influence caused by the Olympic Games on cities. Such mechanism includes the compatibility between the setting of the strategic goal, selection of the venue and the strategic development of the urban space, the improvement of the infrastructure and urban service capacity, the promotion of the urban culture and the strengthening of urban popularity and cultural influence as well as the improvement of urban governance. The holding of major events, which may have its positive side and may also bring along some risks, requires careful consideration by the municipal government.
