郑板桥与江南尤其与苏州具有深厚的渊源,郑板桥本是苏州人,骨子里重视源于江南的祖宗情；他不仅自称江南人,具有江南情结,而且有着独特的江南和苏州意识：他到过江南,有着江南和苏州的感受；苏州是他眼中的江南龙头,衡量区域社会发展的一面镜子。

Zheng Banqiao had a close relation with Jiangnan, especially with Suzhou. He originated from Suzhou and cared much for this feeling for ancestors. He called himself Jiangnanese and got a unique awareness of Jiangnan and Suzhou. He has been to Jiangnan, had a Feeling of Jiangnan and Suzhou. In his eyes, Suzhou is the leader of Jiangnan and a mirror that reflected the development of the regional society.
