云南历史名人传略英译中几个值得商榷的问题

Discussion about Some Biographical Mistranslations of Historical Figures in Yunnan

本文详细分析了清末经济特科状元袁嘉谷、《史记》记载之庄、元代云南行省平章政事赛典赤和近代云南政要龙云等四位历史名人传略的汉英翻译中几个值得商榷的问题,并从翻译工作者的角度出发,对如何减少或杜绝类似误译提出建议,为规范云南翻译市场,提高翻译教学质量提供参考。

This paper analyzes in detail some representative errors in translating the biographies of four historical figures in Yunnan, namely Yuan Jiagu, Zhuang Qiao, Sayyid Ajall Sham Suddin and Long Yun. And then it, from the standpoint of translators, puts forward some suggestions on how to avoid such mistranslations in the future so as to standardize the translation market and improve the quality of translation education in Yunnan.
