从英语句子中介词词类的高频率性出发,探讨在以顺句趋动为基本原则的英汉同声传译过程中,译员面临紧迫的时间压力,如何自然快速地处理介词出现处———这个经常作为口译过程中句子切分的参考点,以便更省时、顺畅地进行口译。并在此基础上,归纳出五种基本的介词处理方法。

This paper discusses the methods of dealing with prepositions in the process of simultaneous interpreting from English to Chinese, in light of their frequent occurrence in English sentences. Interpreters working under huge time pressure always cut sentences where the prepositions appear in accordance with the principle of syntactic linearity. And, based on the study of others and the authors＇ interpreting experience, this paper summarizes five ways to handle prepositions for the swifter and smoother interpreting.
