Search Function of Catalog in the View of Statement of International Cataloguing Principles

介绍《国际编目原则声明》根据编目工作实践和理念发生的重大变化,以检索点的功能作为选择与确定书目系统查找途径的出发点。指出必备检索点以实体的主要属性或关系为基础,对实现目录的查找功能具有关键的作用;它与主要款目的观念有联系,可是已远远超出主要款目标目的范围,尽管中文编目规则遵循交替标目的原则,但是就实现目录的查找功能而言,仍有必要区分必备检索点及附加检索点。

In accordance with the dramatic changes of the practice and concept of cataloging, this paper reveals that the function of access points will be used to choose and determine the search part of bibliographic system in the Statement of International Cataloguing Principles. The indispensable access points, based on the main attributes and relationship of entities, play a critical role in realizing the search function of catalog. Though related to the concept of the main entry, the indispensable access points have by far outgrown the framework of main entry headings. The Chinese cataloging rules, which follow principles of alternative headings, should distinguish between indispensable and additional access points to help catalog accomplish its search functionalities.
