Contextual Restriction on the Two-Way Translation in Machine-Tool Industry

语境是决定言语或语篇意义的最终因素,机床业使用语言的语境决定了其形式上与其它实用语体有一定差异。同理,机床业双向翻译恰当与否也是由语境决定的。然而场景语境和语言语境对语篇的决定作用并非完全同步也非毫无冲突,出现矛盾,应本着实事求是的原则,充分考虑其实用性和现实性,以目的语场景为最后决定因素。

Context is the final factor determining the meaning of words and sentences. The context in which language is used in machine tool industry is different from the context in which language used in other applications because context varies from linguistic context to situational context. Similarly, the two-way translation in machine tool industry is thus governed by context. However, linguistic context and situational context do not always func- tion in a coordinated way in determining meaning. In ease of conflict between the contexts, we should take situa- tional context of target language as a final determinant in the principle of feasibility and reality.
