比利时高级口译教学的启示

A Comparative Study of Interpretation Teaching in Belgium and China

鉴于我国高级口译人才紧缺的现状,本文通过将比利时与我国口译教学情况加以比较,提出我国英语专业教学应注重翻译人才的培养,借鉴比利时国际翻译学院的经验,重视多学科的学习,开展翻译职业教育,从而培养出达到国际标准的高级口译人才。

By comparing interpretation teaching practices in Belgium and China, this paper examines the problems and challenges of how to meet the current dire need for high quality interpreters in China. Specifically, it is proposed that the teaching of English majors should focus on fostering the training of future translation professionals. Based on the experience at the International School of Interpreters in Belgium, the author argues that students should be exposed to a wide variety of subjects in order to prepare them for the breadth of subjects they are likely to encounter as interpreters. Further, in order to produce high quality interpreters who can meet international standards, top students should receive professional interpreter training.
