By the aid of AES, an analysis was made on the passive film of OCr18Ni12Mo2Ti alloy, which was formed in the sulfuric acid solution cotained chloric ion and oxygen entrained. The result shows that the content of oxygen reachs a peak in the depth of 0.3 ̄0.4 nm of the passive film. The chloric ion intrudes into the passive film but doesn′t penetrate through it. The ratio of Cr/Fe of the passive film is much greater than substrate metal.
