A Random Talk on Flower Border

花境是以多种观花植物为主,采用自然斑状混合种植,以充分体现花卉的色彩、季相变化的一种花卉应用形式。花境具有植物种类丰富、季相变化明显、立面丰富、景观多样化、体现乔灌草配置的园林生态理念等特点。花境既表现了植物个体生长的自然美,又展示了植物自然组合的群体美。还对花境和其他花卉应用形式的区别提出了一些见解。

Flower border is an applied form of flowers to manifest the varied colour and changes of seasonal scene of flowers, which consists of many kinds of ornamental plants that mixedly cultivated with natural shape of blocks. Flower border has properties of rich varieties of plants, clear changes of seasonal scenes, plentiful display sides, diversified landscapes and disposition of trees, shrubs and herbs to manifest ecological ideas of landscape. A successful flower border can exhibit both the natural beauty of the growth of individual plant and the collective beauty of the natural combination of plants. Some ideas of the distinctions between flower border and other applied forms of flower plants were put forward in this paper.
