A Preliminary Study of the Practice of Having Able Dependants in the Noble and Powerful Families in the Period of the Warring States

由于养士之风在战国的普遍盛行,这样,“托”便成为战国士人在“仕”、“隐”之外的一种重要的生存方式。“托”包括“托于诸侯”和“托于私门”两种。养士的权贵与寄食的门客之间有着复杂的“报”—“施”关系。本文尝试着梳理这一中国历史上有所本源的复杂关系。

The practice of having able dependants in the noble families was very popular in the period of the Warring States and thus dependency on the dukes and the powerful families became an important means of existence for such dependants.The powerful and noblemen had a complicated 'giving-rewarding relation' with their dependants,on which this paper aims to focus.
