Tang Qi’s Personality in Management

前20年做技术,后11年做管理,在职业生涯的30年里,汤淇始终没有离开过中国电信。如今,作为山东电信掌门人的汤淇,已经带领电信人逐步探索确立了自己的发展战略及运营模式,用两年多的时间走完了传统电信运营企业十几年甚至几十的发展历程,探索出一条固定电话领域竞争和发展的创新之路。

I interviewed Tang Qi on a summer aftemoon. Sitting in his ample office and wearing a pair of black cloth shoes, he talked with ease and assurance with me. He impressed me with his brilliant conversation, personality, simplicity, and daring. He mocked himself as a “troublesome man,” from childhood to adulthood. Tang Qi is very good at mocking himself, since he is very confident of himself. He joked that all he asserted was “absurdity.” However, behind the so-called “absurdity” is his philosophy of life and management.
