Traditional Culture and Socialism Outlook for Honor and Dishonor

纵观我国五千多年的文化传统,一直居于正统地位的儒家文化在诸多方面与“八荣八耻”有很多切合之处,传统荣辱观是构成社会主义荣辱观的内在文化根源,而以“八荣八耻”为主要内容的社会主义荣辱观,则汲取了中国传统文化精髓,是在新的历史条件对中国传统道德观、价值观的传承、发展和超越。

Looking over our cultures of 5000 years, we can find that the dominant Confucianist culture coincides in many respects with ＂Eight Glory and Eight Shames ＂. The traditioanl view of honor and dishonor is the innner source from which deviates socialism view of honor and dishonor featuring eitht glory and eight shames; while it inheriting the essence of traditioanl culture, is the further development and surmounting of traditional view of morals and values under the new circumstances.
