With the fluctuation of world oil prices and profound changes in contemporary world situation, energy has become an issue of great concern for countries in Northeast Asia. In view of world experience, one way to safeguard the regional energy security in Northeast Asia is to set up a multilateral energy cooperation mechanism. This thesis explores the necessity, posssibility and feasibility of .setting up such a mechanism in Northeast Asia in the broad context of international polities.
