Wang Fenggang comes from a poor farming family in Shanxi Province. Over the decades he has painstakingly perfected his writing, calligraphy and root carving skills. Today he is a member of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute. Wang＇s works of calligraphy and root carvings are acclaimed in art circles within and outside of China, and hotly pursued by art collectors. He has also published poetry and articles on art theory.
