本文从语言与文化关系入手,对文化教学的必然性、文化教学在阅读教学中的重要性展开论述,并尝试提出高职高专阅读教学中结合多媒体进行文化教学及其贯彻文化教学时应遵循的策略。

English Extensive Reading is very important, but students usually feel it difficult, and have made lots of mistakes in comprehension. The essay analyses the difficulties are due to the lack of background knowledge that is based on constructivism. Then it will prove that language teaching should compare with culture teaching, culture teaching can promote reading comprehension. The essay begins with the relationship between language and culture, analyzing the necessity of culture teaching, the importance in extensive reading, and tries to state the necessity of culture teaching in college English and some strategies in extensive reading by using multimedia.
