Superstitious Beliefs and Customs in Rural North China During the Period of the Republic of China

民国时期华北农村由于受社会文化因素、生存环境以及教育和认知水平的制约,迷信观念严重,迷信风俗盛行,迷信组织众多。这些迷信风俗尽管主要是对传统迷信风俗的遗存与继续,但在近代科学文明的冲击下,它在地域、人员、内容及功能与危害上仍呈现出不同于以往的特点。

There were many superstitious organizations filled with superstitious belief concepts popular in rural north China during the period of the Republic of China owing to many factors such as social culture and geographical environment and educational level. These superstitious beliefs and customs were heritages of traditional concepts of Chinese which presented new characteristics on area, people, content, function and endanger by the impact of science and civilization in modem times.
