言语交际中常会出现诸如“well”“you know”“你知道”“我的意思是”等话语表达形式,它们被称为“话语标记语”(Dis-course Markers)。话语标记语可以起衔接、信息修正和言语行为调节等作用。本文试用礼貌原则来分析话语标记语,说明话语标记语是对礼貌原则的具体运用。

＂Well＂ ,＂you know＂ ,＂你知道＂ ,＂我的意思是＂are often used in English and Chinese expressions. They are called ＂Discourse Markers＂. Discourse markers have the functions of cohesion, repairing information, regulating discourse behavior and so on. This paper tries to find out the relation between discourse markers and politeness principle.
