摘要
The large relief stone carving of six beautiful horses at the tomb of Tai Zong of the Tang DynastyLi Shimin was originated in the tenth year (636) of Emperor Zhen Guan of the Tang Dynasty. It hasbeen held up as a masterpiece of stone carving in China. In the 1920s, the second beautiful horse wasstolen and shipped abroad and the other four are now kept at the Xi’an Tablet Forest Museum. Thearticle gives a brief account of the rubbings of the original stone carving and their basic features.
