This paper elaborates the importance and function of the scientific and technical information for national defense in the new historic period. It points out that it is of great importance and far reaching significance to fully understand the great historic missions of the scientific and technical information work and strengthen the electronic engineering construction in promoting modernization in national defense and development of national economy.
