Argument on the status、treatmen and function of the military commissioner in the northern song dynasty

北宋节度使虽经改革,权力大不如昔,但地位、待遇明显高于过去。节度使职衔多被用作荣誉衔赏赐给宗室、元老重臣等。但地方节度使依然在捍卫边疆以及钳制监司方面,发挥出了一定的作用。

Although reformed, the authority of the military commissioner in the Northern Song Dynasty was infenor to me past,.But the status and the treatment were higher than before. The official title of military commissioner ,as an honor fide,was usually granted to the imperial clan, the senior statesman and so on. But the military commissioner outside was still displaying the function in guarding the border area and surveiUancing the senior officials.
