还在雷山县城，就看到了满街关于西江的广告——“好客的苗族人家欢迎您”、“西江．天下第一苗族村寨”等等。同伴笑言．如果这是从大山深处发来的请柬．我们就是那千里迢迢不期而至的贵客。

Xijiang is the transliteration of Miao language ＂Jijiang＂, which means the inhabitancy of a filiation of Miao minority. The village has about a thousand families and eleven hamlets, so it is also called ＂qanhu-miaozhai＂ （Miao village of thousand households）, and it is the biggest inhabitancy of Miao minority. Two or three shops sell the daily necessities and farm tools, and only one sells batik,bamboo and wood craftworks.
