利用差分服务模型传输分层媒体流的探讨

The study on using differentiated services to transmit layer-coded media streams

首先提出了分层视频编码器的概念,并且给出了分层视频流的特性,然后利用差分服务模型在Inter-net上传输这些分层媒体流.这种服务的目的是保证最重要的视频部分进行百分之百的QoS传输(例如背景信息),然后用Best-effort方法来传输其他层的视频流.最后提供了一些计算机仿真结果来阐明差分服务的灵活性和有效性,以及对网络拥塞的抗干扰度.

In this paper, the layered video codec is presented firstly and provide some comments of layered video streams. Then we propose a new approach of using differentiated services for processing and transmitting layer-coded media streams on the Internet. The basic concept is to offer guaranteed service with 100 G QoS insurance to the most crucial part （i. e. , the base layer） of stream to ensure its delivery, and to use other/best-effort service classes to transmit enhancement layer streams. We use our simulation results to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency of our approach, as well as its resilience to network congestion.
