Fast Inter Mode Decision Algorithm Based on the Intrinsic Complexity of the Macroblock

摘要 为降低编码过程中宏块进行模式选择的计算复杂度,提出了一种快速模式选择算法.该算法首先计算一个宏块的运动矢量,对运动矢量非零的宏块再进一步计算AC系数能量得到其细节程度,根据细节程度的高低确定待选模式的子集,从而缩小待选模式的数目.实验结果表明,该算法能够在保证对图像质量和码率影响很小的前提下,平均节省33%的编码时间,并获得较好的重建视频图像质量. A fast inter mode decision algorithm is proposed to reduce the computation complexity of mode decision procedure during coding process. Specifically, motion estimation for the current 16 × 16 MB is made, and then the intrinsic complexity of the MB whose motion vector is not zero is estimated bv means of computing the energy of its AC coefficients, Based on the above analysis, only parts of inter prediction modes are chosen according to the intrinsic complexity as candidate modes. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently reduce the coding time by 33% on average without sacrificing picture quality and compression ratio.
