Light rail transit systems

The switch from public to private transport began in the 1950s. As more and more families own not one but two cars, tram systems became redundant and by the 1960s many cities in Europe closed down their tram links. According to the European Union, over the last 25 years traffic on Europe＇s roads has doubled. Roads are reaching saturation levels.
