Focusing on developing students＇ thinking English reading ability is becoming more and more important in education. Based on the writer＇s practical experience in having done so, this article demonstrates skills to cultivate students＇ thinking potential from eight aspects with the help of metacognitive strategies. All the skills stated are much more maneuverable.
