The semantic function of Chinese morphemes is embodied in the component units of word meaning. The semantics and function of Chinese morphemes can be elaberated by means of modern semantic analysis. In fact, the resultant semantic effect of a Chinese morpheme largely depends on its relationship with other morphemes in the semantic structure of the word. Meanwhile the semantics of the morpheme may also affect its semantic function.
