This paper studied on the mutagenicity of organic extracts of soil, groun water and vegetable (mustard rutabaga). The samples were obtained from the area which had been irrigated by wastewater for more than thirty years. The mutagenicity of the samples were detected using the mice bone marrow micronucleu test. The result showed that the soil, ground water and mustard rutabaga in the wastewater irrigation area were positive. It suggested that organic mutagenic compounds existed in this samples. This results indicated that some organic mutagenic compounds might enter the human body from food chains and induced some possible hazard effects on human heing.
