From November 2004 to July 2005, archaeology institute of Shanxi province and other units co-conducted an excavation on two large-scale tombs of the Western Zhou located at Hengshui Town, Jiang County, Yuncheng City. The tombs have one guo (inner coffin) and two guans (outer coffin), the tomb coded M2 has been buried with four persons. Large quantities of bronze sacrifical vessels, such as ding, gui, jue, yah, he, plate were unearthed from the two tombs. Many of them were engraved with"Count Peng". The Excavator concludes that the host of M2 is Count Peng, and the Countess is the host of M1. What is particularly important, the large-area trace of "huangwei" (cover on the coffin) found on the outer coffin of M 1 provides precious material to the research on the etiquette system of the Western Zhou.
