紫坪铺水利枢纽是都江堰灌区的主要水源调节工程,其主要功能是通过水库的调丰补枯和水库的滞洪作用,提高灌区的农业灌溉、城镇工业、生活及生态环境供水的保证率和下游岷江干流的防洪能力。对都江堰灌区国民经济可持续发展起着极其重要的作用。在岷江上游供水区域内的地位和作用是勿庸置疑的。

Zipingpu water conservancy project is the main water regulation project in Dujiangyan irrigation area.Its main purposes are to provide highly guaranteed agricultural irrigation water,municipal industrial and domestic water uses,environmental water requiments and improve flood control capacity of main Minjiang River downstream.The project plays an important role in sustainable development of national economy in Dujiangyan irrigation area.Therefore, its position and function is very important in water supply area upstream of Minjiang River.
