A Probe into the New Teaching Mode in College English

长期以来,我国大学英语教学模式是以教师为中心,学生是被动的知识接受者,缺乏主动学习的积极性,语言应用能力较差。因此探索一种新的以学生为中心的课堂教学模式,让学生参与到课堂活动中来,在参与中练习并提高其英语应用能力,在今天尤显重要。

For many years, college English teaclfing is teacher-centered. Students are passive knowledge receivers and lack enthusiasm in learning English actively, thus resulting in their poor ability in language application. Therefore it is important to probe into a new student - centered teaching mode, which involves the students in classroom activities and makes them practice English and improve their English application ability as they participate in the classroom activities.
