党的十六届五中全会把提高自主创新能力、建设创新型国家作为“十一五”时期的主要任务之一。全面落实这一战略任务具有重大意义。要提高自主创新能力就必须坚持正确的方向和路径。只要全社会都积极投身创新、支持创新,我们的国家就必将获得不竭的发展动力。

The Fifth Plenary Session of our Party＇s 16th regarded the enhancing our capability of independent innovation, building up innovative nation as one of the main tasks during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period. The full implementation of this strategic task is of great importance. To enhance our capability of independent innovation must adhere to the correct orientation and ways. As long as the entire community takes part in innovation, supports innovation actively, our nation will surely obtain inexhaustible motive force for development.
