After a rough inquiry into the nationality of humor, we have less difficulty noting that divergence of cultures may limit the translatability of verbal humor in a latent manner. Despite this case, the paper holds that verbal humor is translatable in that the translatability takes on the form of a continuum or a cline. Humor differs from each other only in how much of it can be translated. Universal humor is thought to be the most translatable and literal translation is welcome. In contrast, cultural humor and linguistic humor, both of which are greatly culture-load, are less translatable.
