《节侠记》据唐人牛肃笔记小说《纪闻》中《裴伷先》一文改编,其情节结构、人物塑造颇见匠心。裴伷先的命运被置于武则天革唐命、立武周的背景上展开,他生活中的插曲式人物则被发展成贯串全剧的角色,剧本因此紧凑、缜密而统一。剧本以烘云托月的手法突出正面形象,以戏曲特有的自我揭露手段刻画反面人物,并强调他们的社会心理依据,因而主要人物写得真实而令人信服。

＂Solar Term and Errantry＂ is reorganized by Tang person——Niu Su according to the Pei Zhouxian in the Report. Its plot and characters are very unique. Pei Zhouxian＇s fortune began with the background of revolution between Tang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty. The episodic characters in his life became the hero of the whole play, which also made the play compacted, meticulous and unitised, The writer doesn＇t economize on describing the positive hero using the decorative method, at the same time depicting the negative hero using the self-disclosing way which is special in all plays. In addition, because of the enough social psychological basis, the main characters are very vivid, real and believable.
