An Analysis to the Tragic Factors of Anna and Emma

《安娜.卡列尼娜》和《包法利夫人》中的女主角安娜和爱玛的悲剧成因具有不少异同之处。共同点主要体现在:两人都没能珍惜原有幸福美满的婚姻家庭;用情太专、自我迷失;对家庭和婚姻缺乏责任感和义务感。不同点主要体现在:安娜强烈的负罪感和经济、感情的依赖性使她日益自私、偏激;爱玛则过分地追求脱离实际的浪漫激情。安娜和爱玛的悲剧至今仍在我们的生活中不时地重复上演,对她俩的悲剧成因进行比较分析具有一定的现实意义。

There are many similar and different factors in their tragic fates of the two heroines Anna and Emma in ＂Anna Karenina＂ and ＂Madame Bovery＂ respectively. The major similarities include that both heroines fail to cherish their existing happy marriage and family; that they are too obsessed with and get lost in love and that they lack the sense of duty and liability for their marriage and family. The main differences exist in that Anna＇s strong feeling of sin and financial and emotional dependence cause her to become increasingly selfish and extreme while Emma indulges herself too much in her search for unrealistic romance. The tragedy of Anna and Emma is still repeated from time to time in our life today therefore it is significant to make a comparative analysis in their tragic factors.
