Lan Dingyuan put forward a lot of constructive proposals related to the development of Gaoshan nationality. These proposals were accepted by the Qing dynasty. He was an important figure forming a connecting link between Shi Liang, who united Taiwan at the early stage of the Qing Dynasty and Liu Mingchuan, who rejuvenated Taiwan at the later stage of the Qing Dynasty, and he had an important historical position in the history of Taiwan＇s development.
