绿原是七月派的著名诗人,在半个多世纪的文学生涯中,他创作了多部诗集,翻译多种多部外国文学名著。在20世纪的中国文学史上,像绿原这样懂得多种外国语言、严肃而富于创作性的从事翻译工作的作家是少有的;他不断地从外国文学中吸取养料,使他的诗作同他的译作一样闪耀着炫目的光彩。绿原和他的诗之“桶”始终在坎坷和坦途、诗的创作和诗的翻译、中西文化之间、古今诗人之间不断地“滚动着”……

Lv-Yuan, the famous poet of July School, created many poetry anthologies and translated many famous foreign literature works during his more than fifty years＇ literature life. In China＇s literature history of the 20th century, there were very few writers like Lv-Yuan who knew many kinds foreign languages and carried on translation in the severe and creative way; he continued to absorb nourishments from foreign literature and made his poems brilliant like his translation works. Lv-Yuan and his poems are continuing going among frustration and smoothness, poems＂ creation and translation, West and East cultures and former and latter poets.
