The Textile Industry: Economic Operation in 1^(st) Half and Prospect in 2^(nd) Half

2006年上半年我国纺织行业保持平稳较快增长,生产效率、行业效益双双增长。固定资产投资向中西部转移,部分行业利用外资成效显著;出口增长平稳,非欧美地区增长速度加快;纺织服装竞争力指数突破新高,自主生产的服装正向高附加值的方向迈进。从上半年的运行走势看, 2006年国内外经济稳步增长将进一步推动对纺织品服装的需求。可以预见,2006年下半年纺织行业经济运行仍将继续保持平稳快速发展。

In the first half of 2006, the textile industry in China maintained steady growth in terms of production, productivity and economic benefit; the fixed assets investment continued to move westwards and certain sectors made significant use of foreign investment. Meanwhile, textile exports grew steadily, and the exports to other foreign markets than EU and US markets accelerated. Moreover, the competence index of the textile and apparel industry hit new record and the apparel bearing local brands achieved higher added value. Based on the economic operation in the first half of this year, it is foreseen that the steady economic growth both at home and abroad will further push up the demand for textiles and apparel. So it is predicted that the textile economy will maintain steady and fast growth in the second half of 2006.
