摘要
约翰.契弗的短篇小说描写了发生在20世纪美国的变革与冲突。美国人无法预料自己的未来,他们深深感到不安定的社会局势直接威胁到他们的生存,并由此导致了生活的不确定性。运用弗洛伊德的理论分析其作品中主人公对突变所引起的生活的不确定性的内心感受。
The 20th century America was permeated with changes and contradictions. It was impossible for Americans to predict their future. They deeply realized that their existence was menaced by the unstable society which resulted in the uncertainty of their lives. This paper intends to analyze the interior feeling of the Americans towards the uncertainty of life caused by sudden changes with the help of Freud＇ s theory.
