Teacher evaluation in the USA has come through three phases： stressed on teachers＇ personal characteristics,built professional teacher evaluation systems and teacher evaluation became an important trend of educational reform. The newest trend of teacher evaluation reform has been built up,which is leaner-centered, classroom-based evaluation systems and developing assessment for national certification of teachers. They make great efforts to band teacher evaluation and student outcomes together,which can give some reference to the reform of teacher evaluation in China.
