On Deng Xiao-ping's Legitimacy Theory of the Communist Party in Power

现代西方合法性理论因其自身存在着认同主体抽象化和无视合法性的物质动因两大具有唯心史观性质根本缺陷,始终没有走出经验与规范二元化的困境。邓小平站在唯物史观的高度,指出人民群众判断共产党执政是否具有合法性的真正裁决者,是认同的主体;人民利益作为认同的根本依据,是合法性的本源,克服了西方合法性理论的缺陷,实现了合法性理论的规范主义与经验主义的统一。

The modem west legitimacy theory itself has two kinds of basic flaw from the historical idealism nature： the approval main body abstraction and disregard for the legitimacy material agent. It has not gone out the experience and the standard idealization difficult position throughout. Deng Xiao-ping starting from the historical materialism altitude, pointed out that it was people that judge whether the communist party in power had the legitimacy. The people＇s benefit as the basic approval basis, was the legitimacy source. The theory has overcome the western legitimacy theory flaw, and has realized the unification of standard principle and the empiricism on the legitimacy theory.
