The Environment and Time for the Origins of Modern Science——Following Butterfield to Talk the Origins of Modern Science

巴特菲尔德的《近代科学的起源》一书描述了近代科学起源与发展中一系列重要的革命事件及其重要意义,但它并未对近代科学起源事件本身做出具体的、历史的分析。笔者引入现代进化生物学的边缘物种形成理论对此进行研究,以为近代欧洲相对边缘的地理位置、文化交流与中断的特殊时机是这一起源事件发生的重要因素。

（The Origins of Modern Science）of Herbert Butterfield introduced a series of important revolutionary affairs in the origin and development of modern science and their meanings. But there wasn＇ t a material and historical analysis to itself of the origin of modern science in his book. I tried to study the origins of modern science by introducing the Theory of Marginal Speciation. I thought that occident＇s far from the center and the special time of its cultural communion and interruption were the important reasons of the origins.
