超高速转发引擎的多协议报文处理机制

摘要 随着IP网上各种业务的不断增加,要求转发引擎同时支持IPv4、IPv6、组播、MPLS多种协议报文的转发,传统的路由器无法支持此项功能。为使转发引擎支持多协议报文处理,提出一种采用单通道进行多协议报头处理与多表并行查表处理相结合的多协议报文处理机制,该机制极大地节省了以往处理方式对芯片逻辑和存储资源所造成的浪费,分析表明该设计方案保持线速转发能力。 With the increasing operations occuring on the Internet,the torwarding engine is required to support the line-speed forward for the packet traffic of IPv4,IPv6,multicast and MPLS protocols.But traditional routers can't support this function.Manufacturers of routers are all taking up with the high-speed forwarding engine that supports multiple protocols.This paper provides a single process channel mechanism and a parallel lookup technique with multi-tables for multiple protocols.This mechanism cuts down on the waste of both the logic on chip and the memory.The analysis shows that it can keep the line-speed forward capability.
