Sperber和W ilson的关联理论将交际看成一种认知活动,话语理解基于人类对外部世界的事物进行认知表征的能力,以最大关联为取向,以认知语境为参照。从比较关联理论、语码模式和合作原则的对比中来探讨关联理论对语用推理机制的发展,并指出其存在的不足。

The inferential mechanism of relevance theory is closely connected with the concepts of maximal relevance and cognitive context. The paper is to compare the relevance theory , the code-model and cooperative principle in order to highlight the contribution of relevance theory to inferential mechanism in utterance understanding. Then the conclusion is drawn that comparatively speaking, relevance theory provides a more scientific and convincing inferential mechanism though it isnt flawless.
