Influenced deeply by his contemporary literary trend, Freudianism, William Faulkner adopted in his novel The Sound and the Fury, to a rather large extent, elements of psychoanalysis both in the plotting and the technique. This can help us to better understand the great novel, for which the novelist was awarded the Nobel Prize, the author and other novels of the same kind.
