党的十六大确立了全面建设小康社会的目标,为全党和全国人民指明了在新世纪新的发展阶段继续前进的方向,也为老年体育事业的发展提出了明确要求。我们要充分认识健康与小康之间的关系,抓住机遇,找准着力点,促进老年体育事业协调发展,为全面建设小康社会作出贡献。

The 16th National Congress of CPC established the goal of comprehensively constructing the well-off society, shew clearly for the Party and the whole nation the direction of advancing continually in the new developing stage of the new century, and set a definite demand for the development of the business of physical education for agedness. We should realize fully the relationship between health and affluence, grasp all the chances and find out accurately the effort point so as to promote the ooordinative development for the business of physical education for agedness and make a contribution to constructing in full scale the affluent society.
